My thanks to Linda for the kind invitation to judge this well organized show and to her and her team for the hospitality on the day. A smaller show than in previous years but a nice atmosphere and some super cats to judge. My steward was Lee Orton and I am grateful for his careful handling of the cats and his good company all day, hope we can work together again soon

The three super brown girls in this class who have all won well under me in the past and I was really splitting hairs between them today. My final decision was based on the withering look my winner gave me as I was deliberating my placings.
GCC Moores Ch DULCAMARA ANNABELINDA (27) 24/07/08 F
The phrase ‘small but perfectly formed’ comes to mind, lovely overall type to this petite brown girl, I would really like her to be bigger at almost two years but she is of excellent weight with a medium length body that is firm and muscular. She has a rounded chest and straight back , elegant slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip. She has gently rounded top of head with well set medium sized ears that are of good shape and set on a broad base with rounded tips and have a slight forward tilt. Her wedge is short and broad with a blunt muzzle and she has a level bite. She has a pleasing profile with good depth to her head, a distinct nose break, short nose that just rolls of a little, strong firm chin. Her eyes are large, lustrous and yellow chartreuse and are of the desired shape and set with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, they are set well apart giving her that special Burmese look. Her coat satiny in texture and is a lovely warm seal brown but is just a little long but lays well. A sweet confident girl who demanded attention and just didn’t want to go back in her pen and shouted for more attention when we moved on.
RGCC Moores Ch DULCAMARA SOUSANNA (27) 24/10/06 F
Stylish brown girl who I have admired in the past and who was very cross today. Her body is lithe and muscular with a rounded chest and straight back. She has elegant slender limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail of the correct length and thickness is well shaped narrowing to a rounded tip. Slightly flat top of head with good width between her well shaped ears, that are set with a slight forward tilt and follow the outline of her face. She has a short broad wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle, level bite. She has reasonable depth to head with a rounded brow and well defined nose break and deep firm chin. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are well set with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid and are set well apart giving the typical Burmese expression. Her beautiful warm seal brown coat is short glossy and close lying. Shown in super condition but was an absolute baggage and used very bad language but was nontheless easy to handle.
I have to mention the unplaced girl Yardleys Ch Papagena Xweet Cicely here, another who I like very much but who just lacked the sparkle of my winners today.

Three quality cats in this class with just a whisker between them, today my winner just had the edge on coat and eye colour.

I have liked this chocolate boy from a kitten and he has grown into an impressive cat. He has a solid well muscled body that has a broad rounded chest and straight back. His limbs are shapely with neat spoon shaped paws, medium thickness to his tail that tapers to a paintbrush tip and balances. Slightly rounded top to well proportioned head, with good width between small ears that are wide at the base with gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt and follow the outer line of his face. His wedge is short, wide and narrows to a blunt muzzle, his bite is level. In profile he has very good depth to his head, a rounded brow and distinct nose break with a tiny bump and a firm level chin. His eyes are large lustrous and yellow chartreuse in colour and are well set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid, set wide apart giving typical Burmese expression. His coat is a warm milk chocolate showing some contrast of colour on his face and is short, glossy and close lying. His language is not fit for a gentleman but he handled well and just told us what he thought of being disturbed.

A big strong handsome lad, he has an elegant body of very good weight for size feeling firm and muscular with rounded chest and straight back. His legs are strong and elegant with neat spoon shaped paws. Tail is of good length but a little thick at the base and is just short to balance. He has gentle rounding to top of head with excellent width between well set medium sized ears. They are broad at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of his wedge. His profile shows a rounded brow, distinct nose break, short straight nose, strong level chin and good depth to head. He has a short wide wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle and a level bite. Lustrous pale yellow chartreuse eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded bottom and set wide apart to give the typical Burmese expression. Warm darker milk chocolate coat is sleek and close lying and in lovely condition. An absolute sweetie who just loves his cuddles.

I had to double check the date of birth for this lovely chocolate girl, and she really was nearly ten! She has a mature firm weighty body with rounded chest and straight back, elegant limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is well shaped, being if medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and balances her body. Beautifully balanced head typical of the breed just showing slight flattening of her dome with good width between her well set ears. They are correctly shaped being wide at the base with gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, the outer edge following the lines of her face. Short wide wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle with level bite and good width at the jaw hinge. Large lustrous pale yellow chartreuse eyes of the required shape and set with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower line, set wide apart giving her a super Burmese expression. In profile she has a rounded brow and distinct nose break with a straight nose, with very good depth to her chin. Her warm medium chocolate coat is short glossy and close lying. Shown in tip top condition I understand this shy gentle girl won her title today – congratulations to her owner/breeder she is a credit to you and the breed.

Her eyes are large, lustrous and yellow chartreuse and are of the desired shape and set with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, they are set well apart giving her that special Burmese look. Her coat satiny in texture and is a lovely warm darker chocolate and is short and close fitting. A sweet natured girl who was a pleasure to judge.

Another nice chocolate girl with just a little ‘attitude’ she has a firm mature medium length body of very good weight with a straight back and rounded chest. Her legs are well shaped with neat oval paws, her tail is of medium thickness and is just a fraction short to balance and has a rounded tip. She has a short broad wedge that tapers to a blunt muzzle, with gentle rounding to top of head and good width between her medium well shaped ears, which are wide at the base with rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt. Her eyes are yellow chartreuse and of the desired shape with the top line sloping towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid and are set wide apart giving her a withering Burmese expression. Her coat is short glossy and close lying and of a warm rich chocolate. She moaned a bit when out on the table but it was just talk!

Classy chocolate girl who says ‘I am a Burmese!’ She has a firm muscular body that is of excellent weight. She has slender proportionate limbs with dainty spoon shaped paws, her tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and is just a little short of her shoulder. She has a beautifully balanced head with gently rounded top with very good width between her well shaped and set ears; they have a broad base with rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outer edge of her face. Her wedge is short and broad and tapers to a blunt muzzle with a level bite. In profile she has a beautifully rounded brow and distinct nose break to her short straight nose and a firm level chin. Her eyes are large and lustrous with a gentle curve to her nose and a full more rounded lower lid; she has a super wicked expression that belies her gentle nature. Her coat is a warm dark chocolate, short and close lying with a wonderful healthy sheen. Shown in super condition and with a lovely temperament.

A dainty girl with a well muscled body of good weight for her size, she has a rounded chest and straight back. Slender elegant legs and neat spoon shaped paws; her tail is of good shape with a paintbrush tip. Nicely proportioned head with gently rounded top and acceptable width between her medium sized ears that are broad at the base and gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her face. She has a short wide wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle. In profile she shows good depth to her head, with a rounded brow, distinct nose break with a short nose that just slopes of at the tip. Her chin is of good depth but it just lays back, she has a level bite. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are of the desired shape with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid. Her coat is a warm dark chocolate, even glossy and close lying. She muttered a few oaths under breath but was calm and easy to handle.

Just old enough to be shown this chocolate tortie baby had all the confidence of an adult. She is of very good weight for her size with a rounded chest and straight back. Her legs are proportionate with neat oval paws and her tail balances. She has a gently rounded dome with good width between her medium well shaped ears which are wide at the base with slightly rounded tips and set with a slight forwards tilt. She has good depth to her head and a gently rounded brow and a distinct break to her short straight nose, level chin that just lays back a fraction. She has a short very broad wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle with a level bite. Her eyes are large lustrous and a muddy khaki where the colour is developing, their top line slants towards her nose with a fuller more rounded lower lid, she still has that slightly shocked expression typical of a Burmese kitten. Her coat is soft and kittenish and shows pretty mingling of chocolate and red, a very promising kitten that should be a star for the future.

Very pretty chocolate tortie kitten of overall good type, she is of good weight and size with a medium length body with a rounded chest, proportionate elegant limbs and neat oval paws. Her tail is well shaped tapers to a rounded tip and balances her body. She has a slightly flat top of head with adequate width between her large ears that are of the correct shape with a broad base and rounded tip and set with a slight forward tilt but that she was holding a little high today. She has reasonable depth to her head with a rounded brow but needs more definition to her break but her nose is straight but just a little long. Medium wide wedge that was just looking a narrow at the jaw today possibly due to teething? She has large lustrous yellow eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded bottom giving a typical Burmese look. Most attractive tortie markings with the pale chocolate and red prettily mingled, her coat is short glossy and close lying. A pretty youngster who will I think improve once she has finished teething.

Her tail is of medium thickness, well shaped and tapers to a rounded tip and balances her body. Gentle rounding to her dome with good width between her well set and shaped ears. They have a broad base, rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, the outer edge following the outline of her wedge which is short and a little narrow with a blunt muzzle. She has large lustrous yellow eyes that have the top line sloping towards the nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid and that are set on an oriental slant which detracted from her expression. Her profile shows moderate depth to her head; a rounded brow and a reasonable nose break, medium depth chin that lays back a fraction and level bite. Most attractive tortie markings with the chocolate and red prettily mingled. A sweet kitten enjoying her day out.

Large lustrous muddy yellow eyes are of the required shape and set with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower line, set wide apart giving the desired Burmese expression. In profile she has a flattish brow and needs a little more depth to her head, her nose is straight but needs better definition to the break with shallow level chin. A pretty girl who just wanted a cuddle.

Her profile is pleasing with a gently rounded brow, good nose break with a small roll of. Good depth to head, with a deep firm chin. Large expressive yellow eyes show a slight green rim today but are of the correct shape with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller rounded bottom line – set well apart giving typical Burmese expression. Most beautiful sleek glossy coat that shows good mingling of a soft dove grey and cream. Shown in super condition with a lovely temperament.

This pretty lilac tortie certainly told us a tale, she chatted away good naturedly the whole time she was out on the table. Gently rounded top of head with good width between her small well shaped ears that have a broad base, rounded tops and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of her face. Short broad wedge tapers to a blunt muzzle she has a level bite. Large lustrous yellow eyes are the correct shape with the top line slanting towards her nose with a fuller more rounded lower line; they are set well apart to give the desired grumpy Burmese expression. In profile she has good depth to her head with a rounded brow and distinct nose break, straight nose, firm level chin that could do with a touch more depth. She has the most beautiful fine glossy coat that is a little long but close lying and a pale dove grey mingled with cream. A lovely girl with a sweet temperament and shown in first class condition.

In profile she has a slightly sloped brow, distinct break to her slightly long nose that rounds off at the tip, medium chin just slopes back and she has a level bite. Her wedge is short and broad and narrows to a blunt muzzle. Super expression in her large lustrous yellow eyes are of the desired shape with the top line slanting gently towards her nose with a more fuller lower line and they are set well apart. Her close lying warm chocolate coat gleamed with health. A sweet girl shown in excellent condition.

Lovely type to this lilac kitten who is just six months old yet shows with confidence and a ‘been there done it’ attitude. Correct shape and thickness to her well shaped tail which is broad at the base and narrows to a paintbrush tip. Her super Burmese head has a rounded top of head with good width between her well set and shaped ears that are broad at the base, have rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edge following the line of wedge. In profile she has good depth to head, a rounded brow with distinct break to her short straight nose, firm level chin and she has a level bite. Her wedge is short broad and narrows to a blunt muzzle. She has large lustrous yellow eyes that have the top lid curving gently towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, already showing a grumpy Burmese look. Excellent texture to her short close lying dove grey coat which has the desired pinky hue. A cracking little character who should trouble the best with maturity. I was pleased to award her Best Kitten in Show, congratulations to her owner and breeder.

Older kitten who is approaching that difficult adolescent stage. Of overall good type with a medium long well muscled body that has a rounded chest and straight back with proportionate elegant legs with neat rounded paws, her tail is of medium thickness tapers to a rounded tip and balances her body. She has a gently rounded dome but was holding her ears a little high today but they were correctly set with a wide base, rounded tips and a slight forward tilt. In profile she reasonable depth to her head and a gently rounded brow and gentle break to her short straight nose, firm level chin and a level bite. She has a short wide wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are correctly set with the top line slanting towards her nose and the bottom being fuller and more rounded to give her a pleasing Burmese expression. Nice texture to her short glossy close fitting coat that is a soft dove grey with just a hint of pink overtones. A sweet girl who enjoyed our attentions.

This dinky brown tortie is just old enough to be shown and another confident purry baby. Her legs are slender and proportionate with neat oval paws and her tail appears a little thin at present but balances her body. She has a gently rounded top of head with good width between her medium well shaped ears which are wide at the base with slightly rounded tips and set with a slight forwards tilt. She has good depth to her head and a gently rounded brow and a distinct break to her short straight nose, firm level chin and a level bite. She has a short broad wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle. Her eyes are large lustrous and a muddy yellow where the colour is still developing, their top line curves gently towards her nose with a fuller more rounded lower lid, with the promise of a typical of a Burmese expression. Her coat is soft and kittenish and warm seal brown mingled with a rich red, she has an attractive red stripe down her face and a red tip to her tail. A super promising kitten who just wouldn’t fit into my pocket!

He has a solid well muscled body that has a broad rounded chest and straight back and of excellent weight and size. He has proportionate limbs that are elegant with neat spoon shaped paws, good tail for shape and thickness tapers to a paintbrush tip and balances. Well proportioned Burmese head with slight rounding to his dome, with good width between small ears that are wide at the base with gently rounded tips. They are set with a slight forward tilt and follow the outer line of his face. He has a short wide jowly wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge, his bite is level. His profile shows very good depth to his head, a rounded brow and distinct break to his short nose that just has a tiny bump, firm level chin. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are well set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid and set wide apart giving him a super Burmese look. His coat is a rich tangerine colour, is short glossy and close lying. A lovely tempered boy who just wanted to be cuddled!

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this super chocolate tortie girl who is approaching her twelfth birthday? Of elegant proportions with a well muscled body of good weight with rounded chest and straight back, proportionate elegant legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip. Gentle rounding to her dome with well set medium sized ears that are of good shape with slightly rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt their outer edge following the upper line of her wedge. She has a lovely profile with good depth to her skull with a rounded brow, distinct nose break with short straight nose, strong chin. She has very short wide wedge with blunt muzzle, level bite. Her large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid giving a super Burmese expression. Her coat is short silky and close lying with pretty mingling of warm chocolate and red and is in excellent condition. Shown is tip top condition and with a sweet temperament. An excellent example of the breed and a credit to her owner.
