My thanks go to the Lynda and her team for the invitation to judge and the warm Yorkshire hospitality on the day. I had some lovely cats so thank you to all the exhibitors for a quality entry. Lastly my gratitude to my steward Sarah Walker who handled the cats with her care and good humour. Hope we can work together again soon.
Asian Tabby (Spotted Classic Ticked) Adult Male
1 CC Holt & Higgins NEMOREZ ASHAMAMAGIC (72 45q) M 13/12/08
Striking black ticked tabby with Burmese colour restriction. He has an elegant well muscled body of excellent weight with rounded chest and straight back. He has strong proportionate legs and neat oval paws. His tail is of good length and just a fraction thick and tapers to a rounded tip and balances. Gentle rounding to top of his head with well spaced correctly shaped ears of good shape and set with broad base and rounded tips and slight forward tilt. In profile he has good depth to his head with a distinct nose break. Firm level chin , level bite. Short broad wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle. Large lustrous yellowy green eyes that have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, set wide apart giving the correct Asian expression. His coat is short, glossy and close lying showing 2 bands of warm seal brown markings on a warm beige ground. He has pale spectacles with dark mascara and pencilling on his cheeks scarab on forehead, rings and a solid tip to tail. He has half bars on his front legs with smudges on the rear, solid colour up his hocks and two broken half necklaces. A happy lad who purred his way through our handling. Just an adult but well worthy of his CC.
BOB Kemps Ch NATZKATZ JABULANI (72 45sq) F 26/01/08
Classy black silver ticked tabby with Burmese colour restriction, and half sister to my CC winner. She has a well muscled medium length body that has a gently rounded chest and a straight back with elegant limbs and neat oval paws. Her tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and balances. Gently rounded dome with very good width between her medium sized ears that are broad at the base, have rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of her wedge. For perfection she needs a little more depth to her head but her profile shows a gently rounded brow with a distinct nosebreak, straight nose and shallow level chin and a level bite. She has a short broad wedge that narrow to a blunt muzzle. Large lustrous yellowy green eyes have a green inner rim and are of the correct shape and set with gentle rounding to the top line that slants towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, set wide apart giving the correct Asian expression. Beautiful texture to her short close lying coat which shows 2 bands of a warm seal brown on a sparkling silver ground, with colour on her heels, smudges on her front legs and half bars on the rear. She has an M on her forehead, pale spectacles with dark mascara around her eyes and a solid tip to her tail. A little hissy today but easy to handle.

Well muscled body of good weight for her size, she has a rounded chest and straight back. Slender elegant legs and neat spoon shaped paws, her tail is of the correct shape but just a little thin and narrows to a paintbrush tip and balances. Nicely proportioned head with gently rounded top and acceptable width between her medium sized ears that are broad at the base and gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her face. She has a short wide wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle, with a level bite. In profile I would like more depth to her head, but she has a rounded brow, distinct nose break with a short nose that has a tiny bump. Her chin is of acceptable depth but it just lays back. She has large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes with of the desired shape with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid, with a wonderful glowering Burmese expression. Her coat is short and close fitting and of a warm seal brown with a lovely sheen. A lovely girl with a super temperament who really looked the business today. I understand this award made her up to Champion – well done!
2 Moores Ch DULCAMARA ANNA BELINDA (27) F 24.7.08
Lovely type to this brown girl, she has a petite strong body with rounded chest and straight back and elegant slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip. She has gently rounded top of head with well set medium sized ears that are of good shape and set on a broad base with rounded tips and have a slight forward tilt but she was tending to hold them a little high today. Her wedge is short and broad with a blunt muzzle and she has a level bite. She has a pleasing profile with distinct nose break, short nose that just rolls of a little, strong firm chin. Her eyes are large, lustrous and yellow chartreuse and are of the desired shape and set with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, they are set well apart giving her that special Burmese look. Her coat satiny in texture and is a lovely warm pale seal brown but is just a little long on her back and lays well. A sweet girl with an endearing temperament who enjoyed our attention.
BOB to Giles Ch RAWEKE BROWN HOLLY (27) 15/02/06
Attractive brown girl with a heavy muscular body, elegant limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. She has a straight back with rounded chest and her tail is of good length and shape and balances. Gentle rounding to top head with very good width between her well set ears, that are broad at the base with rounded tips, the outer edge following the outline of her face and set with a slight forward tilt. She has a short broad wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. Her profile shows a gently rounded brow, distinct nose break with just a slight roll off, firm level chin and showing good depth to her head. She has a typical cross Burmese expression as her eye shape is lovely with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid and are set well apart, they are a green chartreuse in colour. Most beautiful rich seal brown coat is of a superb texture, short glossy and close lying, A lovely girl shown in excellent condition.

Boardmans Gr Ch NICANORY DAISY MAY (27) F 21/05/04
Lovely mature girl with a heavy muscular body just a little plump around the waist line, elegant limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. She has a straight back with rounded chest and her tail is of good shape and thickness with a rounded tip but is a fraction short to balance. Gentle rounding to her top head with good width between her well set ears, that are broad at the base with rounded tips, the outer edge following the outline of her face and set with a slight forward tilt. She has a short broad wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. Her profile shows a gently rounded brow, distinct nose break to her short nose that rolls of a fraction at the tip, firm level chin and showing good depth to her head. She has large lustrous chartreuse eyes with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid and are set well apart to give that typical Burmese look. She was not in the best of moods and grumbled and hissed but she was easy to handle and this just improved her look. Darker warm seal coat that is short glossy and close lying and in super condition. A bit if a baggage today but a lovely girl none the less.

Attractive Devon Rex girl with a firm muscular body, she has a gently rounded chest, straight back and of good weight for her size. She has long slender elegant limbs with small oval paws, her well covered tail tapers to the tip and balances. Her wedge is short and wide with characteristic high cheek bones, strong chin that just lays back a fraction, level bite and a distinct stop. Her ears are large and set low and wide apart tapering to rounded tips. In profile she has a flattish top to head with a curved brow, moderate stop and short nose. Her large pale green oval eyes are set wide apart giving her that lovely wicked expression. She was well covered with a short, soft textured coat was well rippled on her sides and flanks but lacked rexing along her spine line. A sweet girl who was well presented.

A delightful Korat with heavy medium sized slightly cobby body with a gently curved back looking strong and muscular with a medium length tail that tapers to a rounded tip. His head shows very good width with a lovely heart shaped face with large flared ears narrowing to a rounded tip and held high on his head. In profile he has a flat forehead, slight stop and a downward curve to his nose and a strong chin. Large lustrous pale green eyes are round and set well apart. Beautiful short fine glossy coat lies well and is a deep blue with a silvery sheen. A lovely alert lad shown in excellent condition.
3 Philips MELKETER MISSCORRINA (16a) F 22/11/06
Nice Russian blue girl looking mature with a well muscled elegant body, with medium bone and of good weight with long limbs and neat oval paws with blue pads. Head shows short wedge from the tip of the nose to eyes with equal length from the eyes to ears. She has prominent whisker pads, large pointed ears are set high on a wide base with the outer edge following the outline of her face. In profile her skull is almost flat to upper eye level with a very shallow concave curve to her. Level bite but slightly shallow although level chin. Almond shaped vivid green eyes were set wide apart giving her a gentle expression. Her coat soft, dense and fine and is a clear medium blue with a silvery sheen short and soft in texture. A calm gentle girl who was a pleasure to judge

Very nice black silver Ocicat baby, at just 15 weeks he was surely at his first show. He has a long well muscled body that I felt just needed a little more weight but he has a deep broad chest and straight back, strong sturdy legs with compact oval paws and long proportionate tail. He has a longish modified wedge with wide top and large ears set well apart, square muzzle with a strong chin and level bite. His profile shows a gentle rise from nose to brow and a slight dip. His medium to large ears are well set with gently rounded tips and tufts. He has large almond shaped that are an attractive hazel in colour. Most beautiful short, satiny close lying coat that has a healthy sheen and showing clear black spotty markings on a bright silver ground. He has an M on his forehead, pencilling on his cheeks and a pleasing mascara effect around his eyes. The spots extend well down his legs to broken bracelets and he has a spotty tummy. A bright confident kitten with a deep insistent purr who was happy to be handled.

5 month old Sphynx tortie and white kitten with a medium length body and feeling firm and muscular with a broad, rounded chest and rump. Proportionate legs with oval paws, long slender toes and tail. Her head forms a modified wedge with rounded contours. She has prominent cheekbones and prominent whisker pads. Her muzzle is strong with a straight nose and slight stop. She has a strong chin and level bite. Her ears are large and open at the base with rounded tips. She has large and lemon shaped eyes that slant slightly upwards. Her skin is covered by a very fine down with covering of thicker covering on the backs of her ears. A very sweet kitten with a lovely temperament.
3 Wilsons KATZAKIOR MYSTICAL MARLEY (84 19) MN 25/05/09
Red tabby Sphynx and litter brother to Lexi and many of the same comments apply. He is bigger all through as would be expected of a male, but doesn’t have quite the head properties as his chin isn’t as strong and he lacks definition in his stop. A lovely boy who just wanted a cuddle.

Attractive girl of excellent weight feeling firm and muscular. She has a straight back and rounded chest, elegant limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of the desired shape and but a little thick and tapers to a rounded tip and is just short to balance. Beautifully balanced head with a nicely rounded dome with excellent width between her medium sized ears that are wide at the base, gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her face. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes have the top line slanting towards her nose and fuller more rounded lower lid. They are set well apart with giving her the typical Burmese expression. She has a short broad wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. In profile she has a good deep head with rounded brow, acceptable nosebreak to her short straight nose, strong level chin. Her coat is a little long but is sleek and close lying in a slightly cool bluey dove grey. Sweet girl with a lovely temperament.

She has large lustrous yellow eyes are set with the top line slanting towards his nose and full more rounded lower lid. They are set well apart with giving her a super Burmese expression. Short broad wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. In profile she has a good deep head with rounded brow distinct break to her short straight nose and she has a strong level chin. He coat was short glossy and close fitting and of a soft dove grey with a pinky hue. A promising girl who I would like to see when she is mature.

Her tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip and is the correct length to balance and has a tiny indiscretion at the tip. She has a gently rounded dome with good width between her medium sized ears that are broad at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her wedge but she was tending to hold them a little high today. In profile she shows good depth to her head, slight flattening to her brow with a distinct nose break. Her chin is of acceptable depth and her bite level. She has a short broad wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are well set with the topline slanting towards her nose with a fuller more rounded lower line and are set well apart. Her coat is short glossy and coat lying and of a darkish blue showing silvering on her head and paws. A gentle kitten who enjoyed our cuddles.

Her tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip and balances. She shows slight flattening top of head with good width between well set ears that have a broad base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, the outer line following the line of her wedge. She has a good profile with distinct nose break and straight nose, strong chin and good depth to head. Her wedge is short wide and narrows to a blunt muzzle, level bite. Her eyes are large lustrous and of good shape and set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a more fuller rounded bottom and set well apart giving that give that typical Burmese look. She has the most beautiful coat it is short glossy, close fitting and a pale warm milk chocolate just showing some contrast to the points. Shown in excellent condition

Her tail balances her body and is just a little thick and tapers to a rounded tip. She has a lovely rounded dome with well spaced and set ears that are broad at the base with rounded tips, set with a slight forward tilt. She has a short wide wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. Her large lustrous pale yellow eyes are of the desired shape with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller rounded bottom lid; they are set well apart giving her the typical Burmese expression and have an inner green rim. In profile she has excellent depth to her head with a rounded brow, distinct nose break with a straight nose and medium chin. Her coat is longer than ideal but glossy and close lying coat of nicely mingled dove grey and cream. Shown in good condition with a friendly temperament

This most gorgeous brown girl was my disappointment today as no matter what we tried she would not hold her ears properly and was bonneting them which just spoiled her look. She is, however very well made all through with a weighty well muscled body with a broad rounded chest and straight back. She has elegant slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Tail is of acceptable length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip and is just a little short to balance. Her top of head is gently rounded with good width between her medium sized ears. In profile she has a distinct nose break, straight nose, strong chin and good depth to head. Short wide wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge and she has a level bite. Large lustrous yellow eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded bottom giving the correct Burmese expression. Ears are of the required shape with slightly rounded tip and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edge following the line of her wedge. She has the most beautiful short silky coat that is close lying and of a warm seal brown in excellent condition. What a shame she looked so unhappy as she is a super example of a Burmese.

This brown tortie girl was in excellent condition, certainly belying her nearly nine years. medium length well muscled body with a straight back and rounded chest, elegant limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is correct for shape and thickness and is a little short to balance. Short broad wedge narrows to a slightly pinched muzzle and she has a level bite. Slightly flat top of head with good width between her medium sized ears that are wide at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt and follow the outer line of her wedge. In profile she has good depth to her head, a gently rounded brow and distinct nosebreak, with a shallow chin level chin. Large lustrous green chartreuse eyes are the correct shape with the topline sloping towards her nose and the lower lid fuller and more rounded, set wide apart. Her beautiful close fitting coat shows a healthy sheen and is an attractive mingling of warm seal brown and red. She was a little hissy but handled well. |
