Maidstone & Medway Cat Club 20th December 2008 08 Judge Sandra Woodley What a lovely start to the festive season! Thank you to Ann and her team for the invitation to judge this popular well run show. I had some lovely cats and some really big classes so my thanks to the exhibitors as well, I really needed more red cards. Last but no least I am grateful to Sonya Hornsby for her excellent company and efficient handling of bthe cats on the day – looking forward to next time! Asian Self or Tortie (inc Bombay Kitten) 2 entered I judged these two lovely young ladies recently and they are both maturing nicely. 1 & BOB Rices CORVUS EUPHORIA (72b) F 24/05/08 Chocolate self kitten of very good weight for her 7 months. She has an elegant body with a straight back and rounded chest, proportionate limbs, neat oval paws and a good tail for shape and length. Her dome is just slightly flat but she has good width between her medium sized ears which are wide at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt. Her profile shows reasonable depth to her head and she has a gently rounded brow and a distinct nose break, short nose that just rolls off at the tip. She has good depth to her chin which is level as is her bite. Short broad wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge. Large lustrous rich golden yellow colour to her to her eyes that have the topline slanting towards her nose and a more fuller rounded lower lid. Beautiful texture to her coat which is short and close lying and shows a healthy sheen. It is a rich warm chestnut brown but shows lack of colour at the roots and I thought long and hard before awarding BOB but her lovely type won me over. A very sweet kitten who was just a little over awed by today and was much more relaxed and happy in her pen. 2 Rice’s CORVUS CELESTIAL (72b) F 24/05/08 Chocolate self kitten of very good weight and litter sister my 1st and similar remarks apply. Her body is of elegant proportions with slender limbs, neat oval paws and a good tail for shape and length which is just a little on the thick side. She has slight flattening to her top of head with she has good width between her medium sized ears which are wide at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt. I felt she needed more depth to her head but her profile shows a gently rounded brow and an acceptable nose break, medium length nose that just rolls off at the tip. She has a shallow chin that lies back a little and a level bite. Medium broad wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle but is just a little pinched at the jaw hinge today. Beautiful rich golden yellow colour to her to her eyes, that have the top line slanting towards her nose with the bottom lid fuller and more rounded, they are set wide apart to give the typical Asian expression. Her coat is short lying glossy and closes lying and is a rich warm chestnut brown and lacks colour to the roots. A confident young lady who showed herself well. Asian Smoke or Burmilla Kitten 1 entered 1 & BOB Mitchells ARABOTH SNOWFLAKE (72 43sq) F 24/08/08 Very pretty black silver shaded Burmilla with Burmese Colour Restriction of just 16 weeks and at her first show. She has a weighty well muscled body with a straight back and rounded chest. Proportionate elegant limbs with neat oval paws. Her dome is gently rounded with very good width between her medium sized ears that are wide at the base with rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of her wedge. She has good depth to her head with a gently rounded brow, acceptable break to her short straight nose. Her chin is slightly shallow but is level and she has a level bite. Face on her wedge is short and broad and shows good width at the jaw hinge. She has large lustrous greeny yellow eyes showing a slight green inner rim that have the topline slanting towards her nose with a fuller more rounded lower lid and are set wide apart, they are surrounded by very attractive black eyeliner. Kittenish coat of sparkling silver overlaid with warm chestnut shading that extends one third of the way down the hair shaft. A promising baby who was just a little shy today but relaxed with our cuddles. Brown Tortie Kitten 1 entered 2nd (1st & BOB with held) Usmars MACOYS MILLIETHE PINK (27e) F 27/06/08 Attractive brown tortie kitten of good weight and size for age. She has a straight back with a rounded chest and elegant limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good shape and thickness and balances but has a distinct kink at the tip (confirmed by the duty vet) She has a gently rounded top of head but lacks width between her large ears that have a wide base and gently rounded tops, that she was holding upright today. She has very good depth to her head with an acceptable break to her somewhat long straight nose, her chin is of adequate depth and lies back a fraction. She has a longish narrow wedge that appears a little pinched at the jaw hinge. She has correctly shaped yellow chartreuse eyes that have the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower line but that could be a bit larger to give the typical Burmese look. She has a beautiful short close lying coat of a rich seal brown mingled with tangerine. A sweet baby showed in excellent condition with a lovely temperament I am sorry to with hold but her small faults combined with her tail today left me no option. AV Foreign Junior Adult Male 8 entered 1 absent 1 Nices Gr Ch MICAJAS CATWEAZLE (33a 36d) M 16/03/07 This red smoke Devon certainly had that wow factor me. Most handsome lad with that exclusive Devon pixie look. Lithe well muscled body, with slender proportionate limbs and neat oval paws. His head formed a short wide wedge with characteristic high cheek bones, strong chin, level bite with a distinct stop and a strong muzzle . He has large low set ears set wide apart tapering to rounded tips. In profile he has a flattish top to head with a curved brow, moderate stop and short nose. Large oval eyes are set wide apart giving him that lovely expression. Long tapering tail balances. He has a short dense coat that is soft in texture and well waved with lovely crinkly whiskers. A delightful boy with a lovely temperament and my judges choice cat. 2 Alps ADATESH THOMAS O’MALLEY (72 43bq) M 17/03/08 This chocolate Burmilla with Burmese colour restriction was a little cross today but was easy to handle. A handsome boy of good type with medium lithe body feeling firm and muscular and surprisingly heavy. He has a nicely rounded chest and straight back with elegant limbs and neat oval shaped paws. His tail is of good length and medium thickness and balances his body. He has a balanced head with gentle rounding to top and well spaced medium sized ears that are wide at the base with gently rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt. Large lustrous greenish yellow that have good shape and set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid set wide apart. In profile he has a distinct nosebreak, straight nose and level chin. His wedge is short and broad showing pleasing width at the jaw hinge. He has a beautiful coat of a rich warm chocolate on warm pale beige ground with the colour extending down the hair shaft. Denser along the spine line and extending up his hocks. Lightly ringed tail with a solid chocolate tip. He has pale spectacles with dark mascara around his eyes and frown lines on his forehead, shown in beautiful condition and being a typical teenager today. 3 Booth & Shewards Ch VALISA FLASHING BLADE (77) M 17/03/07 A nice lad with a very good body for shape, size and condition, he has well muscled elegant legs with small oval feet, and a well balanced tail. He has a rounded skull with good width at the outer eye and narrowing to a short broad muzzle with definite whisker break. His profile shows a slight stop to his straight nose but I would prefer a stronger chin. Very nice shape and set to his ears which are wide at the base, deep cupped and correctly set with good width between and the outer line just wide of parallel. His eyes are large, luminous of good shape and of a rich hazel yellow, well open, set wide apart and at slight slant, Good depth to head with gently rounded brow, slight stop and short straight nose. He has a beautiful short fine close lying coat that has a smooth silky texture and is in excellent condition. He has clear ticking of a warm rich sepia brown over a warm ivory ground. He has an “M” on his forehead, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by light spectacles, well defined “Cheetah” marks on face, smudges on his knees and a few narrow inner bars on forelegs, well broken yellow toned necklace, rich warm salmon backs to ears. A sweet chap with an endearing temperament. X3 Turners ELMYRA KINABALU (72) M 16/02/07 Strong well muscled Bombay boy of excellent weight and size. He has a straight back and rounded chest with strong limbs and oval paws. His tail is of the correct thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and balances his body. His head has gently rounded top and very acceptable width between his well shaped and set largish ears, which are broad at the base, have rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edge following the line of his wedge. In profile he has a long sloping brow and needs a more defined nose break to his longish nose that slopes off his chin is of reasonable depth that lays back a fraction and his bite is level. He has a short broad jowly wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle, that is looking slightly pinched at the jaw hinge today. He has large lustrous greeny yellow eyes that have good set with a gentle curve to the top line that slants towards his nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, set wide apart giving the correct Asian expression. Beautiful patent leather black coat is short glossy and close lying. A sweet boy who enjoyed our attention. AV Foreign Junior Adult Female 11 entered 1 absent 1 Tanners JONSCOTT POSH ENYA (33a 36) F 17/12/07 Very pretty Devon Rex girl with a lithe well muscled medium body, proportionate limbs and neat oval paws. Her tail is long and tapering, covered with short fur and balances her body. Her head forms a short wide wedge with characteristic high cheek bones, strong chin, well defined whisker break and she has a level bite. She has large low set ears set wide apart tapering to rounded tips. In profile she has a flattish top to head with a curved brow, definite stop and short straight nose. Her eyes are large and oval in shape and are set wide apart sloping towards her ears giving her that lovely typical expression. She has a short dense coat that is soft in texture and well waved with lovely crinkly whiskers. A sweet girl who showed herself well. 2 Alger Streets TYPHA OLOROSO (72b) F 10/08/07 I last judged this chocolate self when she was just 5 months old and she has come on in leaps and bounds. Pretty girl with a petite elegant body with rounded chest and straight back, her legs are slender with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is thicker than ideal and just short to balance. Slightly flat top of head with good width between medium ears of good shape and reasonable set. They are broad at the base with gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her face, she was however, holding them a little upright today. In profile I would like more depth to her head but she has a rounded brown with an acceptable nosebreak, but the nose is a fraction long and slopes away, her chin is firm and level. Short wide wedge with reasonable width at the jaw hinge. Correct shape to her yellow eyes that have the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower line. Sleek close fitting warm rich chestnut coat is almost clear and not quite coloured to the roots. A very sweet girl with a lovely temperament. 3 Chisnalls BUNDLEBENGALAS SHANTI TIGER (76 30) F 19/02/08 This brown spotted Bengal has an elegant long body with very good muscle tone, strong legs and large rounded paws. Tail is medium length and thick with a rounded tip. Head has broad medium length wedge with high cheekbones and curved contours. There is gentle rounding from the forehead to the bridge of the nose. The muzzle is broad and slightly rounded with a firm chin and pronounced whisker pads. Ears are small on a wide base with rounded tips. Oval eyes are large ands set on a slight slant. Short soft dense coat showing rufus ground colour with large rosettes showing pale centres. She has pale spectacles with dark mascara, a scarab on her forehead, chin strap, spotty tummy, leg bars with a ringed tail with dark tip. She was noisy out on the table but gentle and handled well. X3 Alger Streets TYPHAST COLLUMBINE (76 30) F 14/04/08 What a stunning coat this young Bengal has with fabulous clear arrowhead spots. She has a strong well muscled body, strong legs and large round paws. Medium length and thickness to her tail which has a rounded tip. She has a balanced head with a medium broad wedge and showing typical high cheek bones. She has a gentle curve from the forehead to the bridge of her nose. Her muzzle is broad and slightly rounded with a firm chin and pronounced whisker pads. She has small neat ears that sit on a wide base with rounded tips. Her eyes are large and oval and correctly set on a slight slant. She has the mosyt beautiful texture to her soft dense coat which was a rich golden orange color with black and brown arrowhead spots. She has good head markings, with a spotty tummy and legs. A lovely girl who was unlucky to meet Tiger today. AC Burmese Novice Adult 2 entered 1 absent 1 Wyatts TYPHA WARRIOR PRINCESS (27j) F 05/03/07 I last judged this gorgeous lilac tortie when she was 7 months old and she is certainly fulfilling that early promise. Lithe muscular body with rounded chest and straight back of good weight for her size. She has elegant slender limbs and neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip. Gentle rounding to top of head with good width between her well shaped ears and that are wide at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following her upper wedge. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes with the top line slanting towards her nose and full more rounded lower lid. They are set well apart with giving her the typical Burmese expression. She has a short broad wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. In profile she has a good deep head with rounded brow, distinct nosebreak with a straight nose and strong level chin. Beautiful close lying coat with lovely mingling of cream and lilac. A sweet girl shown in good condition. A happy boy enjoying his day out. 2 Ellis PR MAINMAN SMARTYPANTS (27c) MN 08/07/07 Maturing nicely, this lilac lad has a lovely feel to his weighty well muscled body, with a rounded chest and straight back. He has proportionate limbs and neat oval paws, his tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and balances. He has slight flattening to his top of head with acceptable width between his medium sized ears that are broad at the base with rounded tops and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of his upper face. He has a medium wide wedge with a blunt muzzle that is looking square today and level bite. His large lustrous pale yellow eyes are of the desired shape with the top line slanting towards his nose and a fuller rounded bottom lid, set well apart to give a typical Burmese expression. In profile he a gently rounded brow, a moderate break but his nose has a small bump, shallow level chin and reasonable depth to his head. His coat is a soft dove grey with slight bluish shading in his points and is close lying and silky. 3 FORTESCUES BLOOMERS BRAZILIAN BLEND (27) MN 06/08/07 Another nice youngster with a rounded chest and straight back, sturdy limbs and neat spoon shaped paws, his tail is of the medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and balances. Gentle rounding to his top of head with good width between his smallish ears that have a broad base and rounded tips their outer edge following the outline of his wedge and are set with a slight forward tilt. Short wide wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle, he has a level bite. In profile he has a slightly flat brow, distinct break, short straight nose and a slightly receding chin. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes have the topline slanting towards his nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid. Warm seal brown coat that is short and close lying and in superb condition. AC Burmese Neuter 8 entered 2 absent What a super class this was – I really didn’t have enough red cards 1 Powers UK & IMP GR PG MAINMAN BURMASTAR (27) FN 19/05/01 An old friend who I have judged before – this lady is a lovely example of the breed and well worthy of her title. She is of excellent weight with rounded chest and straight back and elegant slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip and is just a little short to balance her slightly plump body. Her top of head is gently rounded with good width between her medium sized ears. In profile she has a distinct nose break, straight nose, strong chin and good depth to head. Her short wide wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge and she has a level bite. Large lustrous pale yellow eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded lower lid and set wide apart giving the correct Burmese expression. Ears are of the required shape with slightly rounded tip and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edge following the line of her wedge. She has the most beautiful short silky coat that is close lying and of a warm seal brown in excellent condition. A lady who is a pleasure to judge as she looks quite fierce but has the sweetest temperament. 2 Buists GR PR ADMEWBU BILBO BAGGINS (27) MN 10/05/02 A handsome boy with an elegant body that is a little plump but feels firm and muscular and is of good weight with rounded chest and straight back. He has slender proportionate legs and neat spoon shaped paws. His tail is of good shape and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip but is just short to balance. Gentle rounding to top of head with well set medium sized ears. He has a balanced profile with distinct nose break, strong chin and good depth to head. His wedge is short and wide with blunt muzzle and level bite. Large lustrous chartreuse eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded bottom giving a typical Burmese look that I felt could just be a bit larger. His ears are of good shape with slightly rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt. Close is lying coat of a dark seal brown glossy and in excellent condition. Well presented with a very good temperament he just didn’t want to go back in his pen. X2 Powers I GR PR MAINMAN RAJAH (27b) MN 11/08/03 A strong handsome lad who just gets better and better he has an elegant body of very good weight for size feeling firm and muscular with rounded chest and straight back. His legs are strong and elegant with neat spoon shaped paws. Tail is of good length but a little thick at the base and is just short to balance. He has gentle rounding to top of head with excellent width between well set medium sized ears. They are broad at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of his wedge. His profile shows a rounded brow, distinct nose break, short straight nose, strong level chin and good depth to head. He has a short wide wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle and a level bite. Warm milk chocolate coat is sleek and close lying and in lovely condition. A total gentleman who is a pleasure to judge. 3 Hutchings I Gr Pr TALIPAW BURLINGTON BERTIE MN 27b (13/12/04) A big gentle boy an elegant body of very good weight for size, feeling firm and muscular with rounded chest and straight back. He has elegant legs with neat spoon shaped paws. His tail is of good shape and a little short to balance. He has a slightly flat top of head with well set medium sized ears that are of good shape and set, having a broad base and rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt. His profile shows a distinct nose break straight nose, strong chin and good depth to head. He has a short wide wedge with blunt muzzle, level bite. Lustrous golden yellow eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and I would prefer a fuller more rounded shape to lower line. His coat is a warm milk chocolate coat and is sleek and close lying and in excellent condition. A lovely chap who enjoyed his cuddle. Red Burmese Kitten 4 entered 1 absent 1 Fortescues BLOOMERS BELCHAMPS BARON (27d) M 09/04/08 Handsome young man who is almost an adult with a firm muscular lithe body of excellent weight for size with rounded chest and straight back. He has sturdy limbs and proportionate oval paws. His tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip. He has a short broad wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at jaw hinge. His top of head is slightly rounded with good width between medium sized ears that are wide at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of his upper face. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are set with the top line slanting towards his nose and fuller more rounded lower lid. They are set well apart with giving him the typical Burmese expression. He has a short broad wedge with a blunt muzzle and level bite. A friendly chap who was well presented and has a lovely temperament. 2 Jeffreys ISSAMEE KATSPELL SUPERNOVA (27d) M 25/08/08 I could have popped this baby in my pocket and taken him home! A few days off 16 weeks and at his first show he took everything in his stride. He has a solid well muscled body that has a broad rounded chest and straight back, his limbs are sturdy with neat spoon shaped paws, good tail for shape and thickness tapers to a paintbrush tip and balances. Slightly rounded top to well proportioned head, with good width between small ears that are wide at the base with gently rounded tips. They are set with a slight forward tilt and follow the outer line of his face. Short wide wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle, his bite is level. In profile he has very good depth to his head, a rounded brow and distinct nosebreak with a tiny bump, firm level chin. Large lustrous sized yellow chartreuse eyes are well set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid and set wide apart giving typical Burmese expression with that naughty Burmese kitten glint. A confident baby shown in superb condition with an endearing temperament. 3 Dells KUPRO RED SASSAFRAS (27d) F 10/05/08 Attractive 7 month old girl who is maturing well. She has a well muscled body of good weight for her size, she has a rounded chest and straight back. Slender elegant legs and neat spoon shaped paws, her tail is of medium thickness and of good shape with a paintbrush tip and balances. Beautifully proportioned head with gently rounded top and excellent width between her medium sized ears that are wide at the base, gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her face. She has a short wide wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle, with a level bite. In profile she has very good depth to her head, rounded brow, distinct nosebreak with a short straight nose. Her chin is of acceptable depth but it just lays back a land level. She has large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes that are correctly set and of the desired shape with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid and are set well apart. A promising baby with an endearing temperament Cream Burmese Kitten 1 entered 1 Dells KUPRO CREAM SALIX (27f) M 10/05/08 This cream chap is litter brother to Sassafras and similar remarks apply. He has a lithe well muscled body of good weight with a straight back and rounded chest. His limbs are elegant with neat spoon shaped paws and his tail of medium thickness and narrows to a rounded tip and balances his body. He has a lovely head with gently rounded dome showing very good width between his medium sized that have a broad base, rounded tip and are set with a slight forward tilt. His wedge is short and broad and narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge and his bite is level. He has very good depth to his head a gently rounded brow with a distinct nosebreak, reasonable depth to his chin. Large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes have the correct shape and set with the topline slanting towards his nose and a fuller more rounded lowerline. They are set well apart to give the typical Burmese look. He has a beautiful coat for texture and condition, it is short and close fitting and of a pale cream showing powdering on his top of head and ears. Another promising kitten with a lovely temperament.
