My thanks to the Essex team for their kind invitation to judge at this popular show, and the super lunch!!. I must thank Sarah Sellman for coming just to steward for me, she handled the cats with care and was very good company, hope we can work together again soon!
ASIAN SELF & TORTIE inc BOMBAY Male 1 entered

Just a young lad who was looking somewhat unbalanced today. He has a lithe medium sized body feeling firm and muscular with straight back and rounded chest with proportionate limbs and neat oval paws. His tail is well shaped of medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and is short to balance. He has a flattish top of head with well spaced medium ears of good shape and set with broad base and rounded tips and slight forward tilt. In profile he has reasonable depth to head, an adequate nose break, but his nose slants off a little. I would prefer more depth to his chin that is level as is his bite. Super yellow colour to his eyes that looked a little round today but did improve as he relaxed but I would like larger to get the true expression. His wedge is short and wide but he would benefit from width at the cheeks. Super glossy sleek black coat is coloured to the roots, a little longer than ideal and lies close to his body but just has a sprinkling of white hairs at his throat and across his shoulders. He has a super temperament – I am sorry to withhold but he just had too many small faults for this award today.
BOB to McCartens Ch AGAPIMOU BLACK PANDORA (72) 27/03/08 F
This Bombay girl is seems to get better each time I see her, she has a well balanced body that is heavy and muscular with a straight back and rounded chest. Her limbs are lithe and elegant with neat oval paws. Good shape to her tail that is of correct thickness, tapers to a rounded tip and balances her body. Slightly flat top of head with acceptable width between her medium well shaped ears that have a broad base with rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt. She has a rounded brow but she needs more definition to her break but her nose is straight and she has a shallow level chin and level bite. Her short broad wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle with a level bite. Lovely rich yellow colour to her eyes that are set with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, they are set well apart giving the typical expression. Beautiful glossy black coat that is coloured to the roots and short and close lying. Presented in excellent condition with an endearing temperament.
BROWN BURMESE ADULT Male 1 entered

Nice type to this lad who had a weighty well muscled body with a rounded chest and straight back, with sturdy legs and neat oval paws. His tail is of good length and shape, balances to his shoulder and has a paintbrush tip. Gently rounded top of head with plenty of width between his large ears that have a broad base and rounded tips. They are correctly set with the outer line following his wedge with a slight forward tilt. He has a short broad wedge, blunt muzzle and a level bite. His profile shows good depth to his head with a slightly rounded brow and distinct nose break that just slopes away slightly. His chin is level and of a good depth. Large lustrous rich yellow chartreuse eyes have the desired shape giving the typical Burmese expression. His coat is a cool seal brown with white hairs around his shoulders and across his chest. His coat was feeling dry and coarse today and was standing away from his body. A nice lad who was just not is show condition today.

What an absolute poppet!! Gorgeous chocolate baby of nearly six months, she is of excellent weight with a well muscled body with rounded chest and straight back, elegant limbs and neat oval paws. Her tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip and balances her body. She has gentle rounding to her top of head with well spaced correctly shaped ears that have a broad base and rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt their outer line following the outline of her wedge. In profile she has good depth to her head with a distinct break to her short straight nose, her chin is firm and level and she has a level bite. Her wedge is short and broad and narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge. She has large lustrous yellow eyes that have very good shape and set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, set wide apart giving a lovely Burmese expression. Slightly long kittenish coat is a warm milk chocolate with little contrast, shown in lovely condition with a gentle temperament.

This dear little baby was really enjoying her day out. At just fourteen weeks old was surely at her first show. She has a firm muscular body that is of very good weight, her legs are slender and proportionate with neat spoon shaped paws. Pleasing shape to medium thick tail which has a paintbrush tip and balances. She has a gently rounded top of head with good width between her medium sized ears that have a broad base, rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt, their outer lines following the outline of her upper wedge. Her wedge is short and wide and narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge. In profile her head has good depth, with a gently rounded brow and distinct break to her short straight nose; she has a strong chin that is level. Her eyes are large, lustrous and a muddy yellow at present where the colour is developing. They are well set well apart with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lid giving her a super Burmese look but with that slightly shocked expression Burmese babies have. Her coat is kittenish in texture (as one would expect) but it lays well and is a pale warm milk chocolate. A sparkling little character who loved a cuddle!

An older girl who at 8 months was just approaching her teenage slightly unbalanced stage. A promising kitten none the less with a strong body of very good weight with rounded chest and straight back, elegant slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good length and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip. She has gently rounded top of head with well set medium sized ears that are of good shape and set on a broad base with rounded tips and have a slight forward tilt. Her wedge is medium, broad with a blunt muzzle that is just looking a little pinched at the jaw hinge today (teething??) and she has a level bite. She has a pleasing profile with a distinct nose break, short nose that just rolls of a little, strong shallow chin. Her eyes are large, lustrous and yellow chartreuse and are of the desired shape and set with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded lower lid, they are set well apart giving her that special Burmese look. Her coat satiny in texture and is a lovely warm darker chocolate and is short and close fitting. A sweet confident kitten that was a pleasure to judge.

Slender elegant legs and neat spoon shaped paws; her tail is of medium thickness and of good shape with a paintbrush tip and just balances. She has a lovely Burmese head that a gently top with excellent width between her medium sized ears that are wide at the base, gently rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the outline of her face. She has a short wide wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle. In profile she has very good depth to her head, rounded brow, distinct nosebreak with a short straight nose. Her chin could do with slightly more depth but is level and she has a level bite. She has large lustrous eyes yellow that are correctly set and of the desired shape with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid and are set well apart and are yellow chartreuse, already showing a sulky Burmese expression. Her coat is a little long and kittenish still and feels slightly coarse along her back but is close lying and of a pale dove grey with a pinky hue. A promising purry baby with an endearing temperament and shown in lovely condition – should have a bright future

Striking Sorrel Abyssinian boy who demanded this placing!! He has a lithe muscular body, straight back and rounded rib cage. His legs are slender, elegant with small oval paws. He has a correctly shaped tail that is thick at the base and tapers and reaches his shoulder. He has good width between his large well cupped ears with furry inner edges and tufts that are correctly set with their outer edges following the outline of his wedge. His head shows a moderate wedge with nicely rounded contours. In profile he has a slight break to his straight nose with a straight plane from nose tip to chin. He has large expressive eyes that are almost almond in shape and set well apart giving him a super expression. His coat is short fine and close lying with clear bands of chocolate on a bright apricot ground. He has attractive facial pencilling, with pale spectacles and darker mascara, a double broken necklace and colouring up his hocks.

Super coat to this marble Bengal who is almost an adult. Her body is sleek and well muscled with a level back and broad gently rounded chest and with strong proportionate limbs with large rounded paws. Very good tail for shape and thickness, it is carried low and has a rounded tip. Attractive Bengal head that is just small in proportion to her body. Her medium wedge shows rounded contours and high cheek bones. In profile she shows a gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve towards the nose leather. She has a large broad nose with a broad muzzle and pronounced whisker pads. Her chin is firm, level with a level bite. Medium sized ears are wide at base and rounded at tips. She has large clear hazel green eyes that are almond shaped and slanted towards the base of the ear giving the desired wild expression. Her coat is short and dense with a silky texture and shows swirls and streaks on a rich bright golden toned ground with distinct glittering visible on back and sides. She has an M on her forehead, with a complex scarab and broken lines running either side, mascara effect to eyes surrounded by lighter spectacles, defined pencilling on her cheeks and a bold chin strap, a double necklace, broken bracelets and spots on legs, rings on her tail, and a spotty tummy. Shown in lovely condition with a sweet temperament.

Another lovely Marble Bengal who was unlucky to meet one today. She has a well muscled body with a level back and broad gently rounded chest and with strong proportionate limbs with large rounded paws. Well shaped tail of the correct thickness, it is carried low and has a rounded tip. Typical Bengal head that is correctly small in proportion to her body, with a medium wedge showing rounded contours and high cheek bones. Her profile she shows a gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve towards the nose leather. She has a large broad nose with a broad muzzle and pronounced whisker pads. Her chin is firm, level with a level bite. Medium sized ears are wide at base and rounded at tips. She has large almond shaped eyes that slant towards the base of the ear giving the desired wild expression. Striking looking brown tortie Tonkinese of just six months. She has a medium length body, rounded chest and straight back that rises towards her rump, with a medium length tapering tail. Her legs are slender and elegant with neat oval feet. Gentle rounding to top of head with good space between her correctly sized ears that have a broad base and rounded tips and are set with a slight forward tilt. Her wedge is medium with a slight whisker break. She has large expressive greeny blue eyes of the desired shape and set with the top line slanting towards her nose and more rounded fuller lower line and almost almond in shape. In profile she has a moderate nosebreak, firm level chin and level bite. Super texture to her short close fitting shows that shows a delightful mingling of colours merging to darker points. A very sweet girl shown in lovely condition.

Striking silver spotted Bengal had a medium sleek well muscled body that rises to the rump with proportionate legs and large rounded paws. Her tail is thick and even with a rounded tip and carried low. She has a broad medium wedge that is longer than it is wide with high cheekbones and rounded contours. In profile she has a gentle curve to his nose which is large with a broad muzzle and pronounced whisker pads, a firm level chin with a level bite. Her eyes are large almost round in shape and a deep blue in colour and set with a slight slant towards the base of his ears. She has a super short and dense coat with black spots on a silver base. She has good facial markings with a very pale muzzle, ‘M’ on forehead, pencil lines on cheeks, chin strap and vertical streaks over head, her eyes, nose and lips are outlined in black. She has broken lines and spots on her legs and rings on tail. A very attractive girl with a lovely temperament and shown in excellent condition.

Pretty Devon Rex kitten who looked lovely face on. She has a lithe well muscled body, with slender proportionate limbs and neat oval paws and a long tapering tail that balances. Her head forms a short wide wedge with characteristic high cheek bones, strong chin, level bite with an adequate stop and a strong muzzle. Her ears are large set low and wide apart tapering to rounded tips. In profile she has a flattish top to head with a curved brow, moderate stop and short nose. Her large oval eyes are set wide apart giving her a super expression. She is well covered with longish slightly shaggy coat that is soft in texture and lacked rexing. A sweet girl with a lovely temperament.

Mature Russian blue girl of very good weight and size looking mature with a well muscled elegant body, with medium bone and of good weight with long limbs and neat oval paws with blue pads. Her head shows short wedge from the tip of the nose to eyes with equal length from the eyes to ears. She has prominent whisker pads, large pointed ears are set high on a wide base with the outer edge following the outline of her face. In profile her skull is almost flat to upper eye level with a very shallow concave curve to nose. Level bite but slightly shallow although level chin. Almond shaped vivid green eyes were a little deep set but are wide apart giving her a gentle expression. Her coat is short, soft, dense and fine and is a clear medium blue with a silvery sheen

His coat is short, glossy and close fitting and is a warm tangerine colour and almost clear. A delightful chap enjoying his day out

She is of good weight with rounded chest and straight back with elegant, slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of good shape and thickness, tapers to a rounded tip and is slightly short to balance. She has a nicely balanced head, with gently rounded top and well set medium ears that are of good shape with broad base and slightly rounded tip and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edge following the line of her upper face. In profile she has a distinct nose break, firm level chin, good depth to head and a level bite. She has a short wide wedge with blunt muzzle. Her large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded bottom giving a typical Burmese look. Beautiful short coat is satin like in texture and close fitting of a warm even chocolate. A friendly gentle girl in super condition.

Her tail is of correct shape and thickness and narrows to a paintbrush tip and just balances her body. She has good width between her small ears that have a broad base with rounded tips. They are well set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edges following the lines of her face. Her wedge is medium to short, broad and narrows to a blunt muzzle that I would prefer with a little more width at the jaw hinge and a level bite. Her large lustrous pale yellow chartreuse eyes have the desired shape and set with the top lid slanting towards her nose with a fuller more rounded lower line and set well apart giving the correct Burmese expression. Her profile shows a rounded brow, distinct break to her short straight nose and level strong chin. She has a short close fitting warm chocolate coat that is satiny and glows with health. A lovely girl not disgraced by third in this company.

Very attractive brown tortie girl who has matured since I last saw her. Of deceptively good weight for her size, she has a firm body with a straight back and nicely rounded chest, elegant limbs with neat oval paws. Her tail is of the correct shape and thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip and balances. She has a slightly rounded dome with very good width between her medium sized ears that are well set with a slight forward tilt and correctly follow the upper part of the face. She has a short medium wedge narrowing to a blunt muzzle, with a level bite. In profile she has very good depth to her head, slight flattening to brow, and distinct nosebreak with a short straight nose. Her chin is of medium depth and level. She has large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes that are correctly set and of the desired shape with the topline slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom lid and are set well apart. Her coat is fine glossy and just a touch long on the back but lays well and is a nice mingling of seal brown and red. A very pretty girl with a super temperament.

Her yellow chartreuse eyes are large and expressive and are well set and a pleasing shape with the top line slanting towards her nose and a fuller more rounded bottom line and set well apart to give the typical Burmese look. Her coat is short glossy and coat lying and of a mid blue nicely mingled with cream. A little grumbly but handled well, a really super girl.

An old friend who I have met before and who is a lovely example of a Burmese. She is of excellent weight with rounded chest and straight back and elegant slender legs with neat spoon shaped paws. Her tail is of medium thickness and tapers to a paintbrush tip and is just a little short to balance. She has a gently rounded dome with good width between her medium sized ears that are of the required shape with slightly rounded tip and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer edge following the line of her wedge. In profile she has a distinct nose break, straight nose, strong chin and good depth to head. Her short wide wedge narrows to a blunt muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge and she has a level bite. Large lustrous pale yellow eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded lower lid and set wide apart giving the correct Burmese expression. She has the most beautiful short silky coat that is close lying and of a warm seal brown in excellent condition. A lady who is a pleasure to judge as she has the ‘Burmese’ look but has the sweetest temperament. Shown in super condition!

They are broad at the base with rounded tips and set with a slight forward tilt, their outer line following the line of his wedge. His profile shows a rounded brow, distinct nose break, short straight nose, strong level chin and good depth to head. He has a short wide wedge that narrows to a blunt muzzle and a level bite. Lustrous golden yellow eyes have good set with the top line slanting towards the nose and a gently rounded bottom and set wide apart to give the typical Burmese expression. Warm milk chocolate coat is sleek and close lying and in lovely condition. A super boy who shown in tip top condition and who is a real gentleman who is a pleasure to judge and real teddy bear cat.
